Below is a letter (email) received from Vivian Zheng regarding her experiences at Yryla. Our Club sent Vivian although she is from the Rocky Heights Middle School group that were all interviewed by Castle Pines Rotary; we just funded two of their students and they did the leg work.
Good morning! I hope you have had a good summer so far.
I got back from Young RYLA a few days ago. I would like to thank you because it was one of the best weeks of my life!
I loved listening to all the speakers talk. I especially loved Charlene Moser talking about Lynda's Legacy. It was so touching and inspirational. Having multiple organ transplants multiple times is truly amazing.
Next, I loved all the activities we did. I thought the Challenge Course/ Zip line was the best part. It really got your adrenaline rushing. I also really liked the Trust Fall, Ebola, and Barn Raising. It made us trust each other and become one big family. One night we also did an activity called Take a Look Around. It made me realize how fortunate I am and how I should never take anything for granted.
Lastly, I met so many amazing people. Right after we left the camp, one person on my team created a group text. We all talk on the group message to keep in touch. Like I stated above, we are one big family! I hope/ know we will keep in touch for years to come!
I really appreciate you giving me this opportunity! It is something that I will always remember!
