Happy "Hump" Day, Friends.
We hope you are having a great week and you can join us tomorrow as we resume regular meetings at noon at The Lone Tree Hotel & Golf Club. We wanted to remind you that our Exchange Student from Italy, Filippo, is planning to speak and we hope to see many of you there to meet him.
We did not send The Wheel Spinner on Tuesday since we were dark last week, but a few things to note:
1) If you can help with an Exchange Student on 9/13-15, we may still need a couple more volunteers. You are responsible for dinner Friday, and breakfast the following 2 days, as well as transportation for them to the designated locations. A short background must be filed for any adult in the house in advance. Please contact Scott Davenport if you can help. His number is 303-815-0317
2) Community Service had the following updates:
- We still need readers for future weeks at Sedelia Elementary. Connie is the contact at 303-875-5666. We approved a $1000 club donation to the school for books, so please help support the reading program if you are able.
- There is a forthcoming event at The Ronald McDonald House in late October with a Halloween theme. President Arthur and "First Lady" Terre are working out details. Stay tuned and let them know, please, if you would like to be involved.
- Project Cure's next sort date is 9/9 from 1-3 and 4-6 volunteers are needed. Steve Miller is on point for this at 303-229-8726.
- We Don't Waste will meet on 10/1 from 12:15-3:15 at Bruce Randolph School in Denver. Terre Cone is handling details for this event.
- Project Angel Heart is humming along. Reen and Elizabeth will schedule another "Bag Lady Day" soon. Kristy Hayzlett has been a great help with delivery in recent months!
3) Flyin' B does meet this week. Contact Win Pendleton if you have any questions. We also recall they may have a blood drive coming soon, so we will get updates on that next week.
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow at noon, friends.
It's a GREAT DAY to be a Rotarian!
