OTHER NEWS THAT'S FIT TO PRINT

5450 DISTRICT CONFERENCE IS COMING!

We have a great district conference coming up April 22-24 in Breckenridge! The theme, Be a Gift to the World – Lead with Your Heart, provides many options for excellent sessions.

Friday night John Lawrence will discuss the ‘Mental Health’ awards program. Then Saturday, Tommy Spaulding, author, Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar, speaker and entrepreneur, will inspire you by leading with your heart.  Lannie Garrett is also on the program.  She was such a great entertainer at the 2015 Gala.

ROTARY CRUISE DEPOSIT DUE ON THURSDAY, FEB. 11!
This is going to be a great cruise to Belize City and ports of call inbetween!  But if you want to participate...and get $300 worth of on board services...you'll have to give Jane a check and passport info by Thursday.
The deposit is $200 for a balcony cabin. To hold the cabin, Jane will also need:
Names on passports
DOB
Address
Email address
Phone #
Credit card number or a check made out to Jane Kucharski if this would work better for you...

We can't confirm that this is the ship we'll be on or that we'll have this view, but it could be similar!

NIBBLES & SIPS NEEDS OUR HELP!
With the honor of being this year's honoree, HR Rotary needs to lend a hand.  IFCS is asking if we can provide volunteers to assist with their annual fundraiser.  If you're interested, please call Judy Rooney at 720.308.5612.

MEMBER PROFILE:
WHO IS RAY ANDERSON?
-- Involved in both club and district

WHEN YOU JOINED
I joined in 1997, served on the board and in July 2000 became president.
During that year we were proud to charter the Centennial Rotary Club.
In 2005, I served as program chair under Debby Doig

HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED ON THE DISTRICT LEVEL
I began assisting Mary Kay with membership on the district level, giving presentations at District Assemblies.
In 2007 I stepped in as District Membership Chair and was also a member of the District Club Extension Committee. Bob Walsh became Membership Committee chair the following year.He and I stayed on until 2012 when Debby took over as Chair. During this time I was also on the District Visioning Committee as one of the facilitators.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING NOW
Currently, I serve on the club’s Membership Committee
I’m also on Mary Kay’s District Conference Planning Committee as Co-Chair
I’m also busy planning of the district conference.
In July I will take over from Bob Walsh as one of the Assistant Governors responsible for overseeing and assisting the Rotary Clubs of Castle Pines, Castle Rock, Castle Rock High Noon, and Highlands Ranch under Bill Downes, our next District Governor.

AND HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE CLUB?
What a great club and district we have!  Editor's note: Ray was so happy to win 50/50 last week  that he gave it  back in happy bucks!

MOUNTAIN VISTA INTERACT NEWS

Thank you for your continued and unconditional support of our Mountain Vista club.  We are very excited to welcome 2016 and all the opportunities it will bring!  These are the events we were involved with for the month of January 2016:

January 7: Peaceful Schools Visit- we visited 1st and 3rd graders at a local elementary school to read and perform activities which ensure an environment of safety and understanding in their classrooms

January 20, 8th Grade Parent Night: we spoke with parents of 8th graders to spread the news about Interact Club and how they can get involved with the middle school club and as freshmen next year

January 21, Project C.U.R.E.: we worked with members of the Rotary Club

January 30, Bessie's Hope Visit: we sang and did winter-themed crafts with residents at Brookdale Alzheimer's/Dementia Care Center to bring them joy and company
