Jeff Kraft presented an informative program on working with wheelchair users at the March 5 meeting. Jeff has dedicated his career to helping business owners and executives be more successful in their professional and personal lives.  He is a Forum Leader with Renaissance Executive Forums.  Jeff spoke to ten critical points of etiquette when working with persons with disabilities.  He talked about having patience; how to do introductions by shaking hands or giving a gentle touch; being at eye level by sitting or knelling; using normal language; bring aware of personal space; explaining to young children before they interact; what to do in restaurants or eating with a person; and looking beyond the chair.
Bishop Magehee, a senior at Valor Christian High School, was recognized as an outstanding student.  At the Thursday, March 5th meeting the club presented Bishop with a certificate and a gift certificate to Tattered Cover Bookstore.  His parents, Sheri and Marty Magehee, joined him for the recognition.  Bishop has been involved in the arts program at Valor Christian since his freshman year.  He has performed in 4 musicals and 2 theatrical productions.  He is currently a leader and a member of Valor’s Improv Troupe.  Bishop did an excellent job of telling about a missions trip to Managua, Nicaragua.  Even doing a little improv embellishment of a story with children in the orphanage.  Bishop intends to purse cinematic arts and biology in college.  He has been accepted at several universities, but hasn’t made a decision yet.
David Blackwood was inducted as our newest member on March 5. David is a commercial broker associate with Your Castle Real Estate.  His wife, Maria Benito, was present when Bill Simmermon inducted David.  His sponsor is David Harriman and Jim Bramley will be his mentor.
