To help Doug and Debby Doig, Connie Golas has set up an Internet-based Care Calendar. It's an easy confidential system to have volunteers sign up to provide a meal for them as Doug is now home from the hospital and working on regaining his strength.
The helper logon is used by family and friends that would like to sign-up to help a loved one.
To access Doug and Debby Doig's CareCalendar site, visit http://carecalendar.org and enter the following information in the appropriate spaces:
Calendar ID : 225049
Security code : 9245
The calendar includes Doug & Debby's address, her cell phone, and specific dietary requests. We're hoping they can get a meal each Monday and Thursday.
To facilitate deliveries of meals, you could bring a meal to Rotary on Thursday and Connie or Jane will deliver it.
Thank you for your continued, unconditional support, we are where we are today as a club thanks to all of you! We are very excited for the upcoming holiday season and all the opportunities it will bring!
These are the events we were involved with for the month of November 2015:
November 5, Peaceful Schools Visit- we visited 1st and 3rd graders at a local elementary school to read them stories and perform activities with them to ensure an environment of safety and understanding in their classrooms
November 7, Bessie's Hope Bowling- we bowled on Rotary-reserved lanes at Bessie's Hope's annual fundraiser to gain support and funds for this incredible organization
November 14, Bessie's Hope Visit: we visited Brookdale Alzheimer's/Dementia Care and visited with the residents while also making winter-themed crafts and singing songs
November 15, Friends of Gueoul Mailing: we helped Judy Beggs, the founder of a nonprofit that helps send girls in Senegal to school, with her extensive holiday season mailing process
November 19, Project C.U.R.E.- we sorted donated medical supplies at Project C.U.R.E.'s international headquarters with members of the Rotary Club
November 21, Interfaith Thanksgiving Distribution- we transported and handed out hundreds of boxes full of Thanksgiving meals to those in need in our local area of Highlands Ranch, Littleton, and Englewood at Interfaith Community Service's food/ clothing bank
