MAKE THE FT. CARSON GOLF TOURNEY AN OVERNIGHT ADVENTURE!
The Ft. Carson NCOA golf tourney will be Friday, May 19. While making your plans, think about making it a true military experience by staying overnight on May 18 in Army base lodging! It's quite an experience...and you don't have to get up so early on Friday cuz you're 5 minutes away from Cheyenne Shadows Golf Club! For more information, Call Tom Keyton - they'll be sleeping in, Army base style, along with the Piche's who will also be staying over...I feel a party coming on!
FOUNDATION ACTIVITIES
The Rotary Foundation is a non-profit corporation that supports the efforts of Rotary International to achieve world understanding and peace through international humanitarian, educational, and cultural exchange programs. It is supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better world.
The Foundation was created in 1917 by Rotary International's sixth president, Arch C. Klumph, as an endowment fund for Rotary "to do good in the world." It has grown from an initial contribution of US$26.50 to more than US$1billion. It has one of the largest and most prestigious international fellowship programs in the world.
If you're wondering about how projects are funded within our club, it's a function of the Foundation. They meet with groups requesting sponsorship or funding and make the decision on who we will support for the year. 95 percent of the funds are generated by the gala, which is why this event is so important. If you have a nonprofit you're passionate about, you can speak with the Foundation about getting it in the budget. or fill out a funding request form and give it to a foundation member.
And who is on the Foundation?
