WARDEN BOB HOOD ON THE SUPERMAX

As a member, it's your duty to find a committee to serve on, an activity to participate in, run for the board, bring an idea to the board or foundation to pursue, or just say, 'I want to be involved'. You know someone will take you up on that! And don't be afraid to speak up.  With all we have going on, you're sure to find your Rotary passion. A LOOK BACK AT LAST YEAR'S EVENT
It was an early morning of shopping last December at Kohl’s in Highlands Ranch, where  Rotarians and Advocates for Children – CASA. However, the smiles and memories given to the kiddos were well worth the 5 am early morning alarm for the volunteers.

Started by Centennial Rotary with HR Rotary jumping in as well, kids participated from CASA, Boys Hope, Girls Hope Colorado and Thomas Jefferson High School. There were 90 kids at this glorious shopping event, many whom never had the opportunity to go into a store and buy something new. A lot of kids wanted Bronco paraphernalia and finally were able to have a real Broncos shirt.

“This event is so special to both the Rotarians and the kids who had the opportunity to participate”, said Andrea Tagtow, Centennial Rotarian.  For the observers and Rotarians this was an emotional and heartfelt experience watching each child as they carefully picked out their most treasured gift, boots, jeans, shoes and for some a gift for their brother or sister.

AND ANOTHER HOLIDAY CLOTHES EVENT:
COAT DRIVE FOR THE INDIAN CENTER

Both the satellite club and the noon club participate in events for the Denver Indian Center.  They're running a coat drive, in case we ever get into winter. Contact Andy Becher if you have coats to donate. Both Andy and Mickie Cameron are passionate volunteers for this group.  In fact, last year they served as Mr. & Mrs. Claus at the center's holiday party! By the looks of this photo, Andy needs to gain several pounds to create the perfect 'Santa's lap' for the kids!

Don't forget to bring in food for the two food drives we're contributing to.  Our two biggest causes - IFCS and Douglas Elbert Task Force - are gearing up for some major food needs as the holidays approach.  Their clients are in need as we enter the holiday season, in need of food not just for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but for the next few months as kids are home from school and eating them out of house and home.  So write this on your grocery list right now - FOOD FOR THE CAUSE, LOTS OF FOOD FOR THE CAUSE!

You'll see two barrels at the club meeting, each labeled for one of the organizations.  Divvy up between the two, buy a lot and help out our fellow Coloradans.
