Meetings are on 1st and 3rd Wednesday mornings at 7:15 A.M. at The Children’s Hospital (470 and Lucent) at 1811 Plaza Dr., Highlands Ranch, CO.
in the Tennessee Room. About $7 for Continental Breakfast. Childrens hospital puts on a wonderful spread for us with pastries, scones, a huge fruit platter and 2 kinds of juices!!! We can change the menu if we like and will probably do from time to time. You should come visit us and have a warm scone.
Good for a make up or for our friends and acquaintances that would appreciate a Rotary Club with a morning meeting time. If you plan to attend, please let Ann Mather at 303-570-9838 (Annmather@aol.com) or Linda Blackstone at 303-992-5625 know the day before.

Marcella Shadle, Executive Director of the Douglas Elbert Task Force, was the guest speaker on May 19. She up-dated the club of the work and needs of the Task Force. "The Douglas/Elbert Task Force strives to meet the immediate needs of residents of Douglas and Elbert counties who are in financial distress and/or at risk of becoming homeless. We work directly with our clients to help them work through troublesome times by providing essential services with dignity, kindness and respect."
The Transition Dinner for the incoming District Governor, Mary Kay Hasz, will be held on June 28, 2015 at the Franciscan Event Center. The center is located at 6553 S Revere Pkw. in Centennial. Details are to follow.
At our last meeting, the satellite club voted on their official new name. From now on we are Highlands Ranch Rotary Sunrise.
Our group also voted not to proceed with the poker tournament we were considering to hold during Western Welcome Week. This was to be our signature fundraiser, but the members were concerned we might not have enough manpower to adequately hold the event. We will continue to explore fundraising alternatives.
I see the request for volunteers for the Elephant Rock Ride in the Wheel Spinner. We need volunteers to man at least 6 or 7 of the stations. We recommend 2 people per station. They should bring water, chairs and be prepared to have some fun:) Volunteers can contact Paul Campbell or myself.
The Highlands Ranch Rotary Club Morning Group will be participating in the annual Subaru Elephant Rock Cycling Event in Castle Rock. Sunday, June 7. This event draws up to 6000 cyclists and offers a variety of courses from friendly family routes to more challenging 100 mile courses.
The Morning Rotary Club acts as "marshals" along the route. In this capacity, the members are posted at various locations and support the riders by ringing cowbells, shouting encouragement and providing directions. 30 to 32 Rotarians are needed to man the support stations (2 Rotarians per station)/ This in an incredibly popular event that supports non-profits like the Interfaith Task Force Community. More information on this ride can be found at www.elephantrockride.com.
If you can help the Rotary Morning Group by helping in this event, please contact their Chairperson, Ann Mather, at Annmather@aol.com or Steve Miller, President of the Highlands Ranch Noon Club. Your support is needed to make this event successful. You will enjoy a beautiful morning in Castle Rock, a fun experience and an opportunity to help our community. Please sign up by Friday, May 15.
Todd McPherson, the Inter-Faith Community Services Development Director, attended the May 14 meeting to let the club know that we had been selected to be recognized for our work with IFCS at the 2016 "Nibbles and Sips" event.
