MOUNTAIN RIDGE MIDDLE SCHOOL INTERACT UPDATE
Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season and enjoyed time with friends and family. The Interact Club at Mountain Ridge had a busy few months. We visited our friends at Brookdale in both November and December. In December, we were in charge of the activities, games and songs to do with the residents. It was a Winter Wonderland theme and we had a great time with them as always.
We also held a Food Drive at a local King Soopers and collected a large number of goods to donate to Fresh Harvest Food Bank. We spent about 3 hours collecting the food and then another 2 hours shelving it so that people in need can easily get food they need.
Also in December, we helped out at a Ferocious Fighters Care Package Creation Day. Here we helped tie blankets, cut stickers, assemble care packages and send them off to kids around the world who struggle with CRPS (Complex regional pain syndrome is a chronic pain condition most often affecting one of the limbs, usually after an injury or trauma). One of our members started Ferocious Fighters non-profit because he has CRPS too. It was great to help out. We have a busy few months coming up and are excited to serve our community.
