THE ROTARY CLUB OF HIGHLANDS RANCH

The Wheel Spinner Quick Word  - One from the Road

A Short Note Version of
The Wheel Spinner
For the Week of April  24, 2025
Friends,
We had a fine meeting last week, but after preparing the template from DIA on Tuesday, I realized this morning in Maryland, the notebook I used is back in Highlands Ranch.

Here (to the right) are the fine points I can recall and I will work to update all when I return.

Special thanks and photos to follow for Linda Watson who gave a great presentation about Skyridge. I will include her photos and notes next week.

We also received an outreach from Betsy Alexander who is traveling now. I have new information to share about our Peace Pole and I am eager to put this forward. I will do this next week also.

My time with you all is wrapping up. My husband's surgery will be on 5/9, so I will be relying on help to capture meeting notes/publish them moving forward. I will do my best, but it will be a challenging time in our home.

I hope you all have a fine meeting tomorrow. Please check the website or log in to ClubRunner and check for tomorrow's program.

President Arthur is still away - hopefully enjoying his time in the East - and Bill Leeper will be in the Center Ring tomorrow.

My best to you all from College Park, Maryland. I will be back in Colorado next Wednesday and will do my best to capture notes.

Thanks in advance to Judy Carlson and Shara Hubert who will be taking notes tomorrow. Please snap and send some pictures to me of our speakers.

Yours in Rotary,
~Kim
  • There are budget decisions to be made for the Club. You all should have received a survey via email last week, which, I believe is due tonight. Please reply if you can regarding cost issues and meals/meetings.
  • The Friendship Dinners are coming on 5/9 and 5/10. Please contact Nancy Barton or sign up to host/attend.
  • Chip Kennedy is stepping away from Treasurer duties due, in part, to the rigor of his work and travel. We need to fill this position.
  • Terre Cone is heading a search for a Hospitality Committee to help with social events, etc.
  • There is a forthcoming Ronald McDonald House event in May.
  • The Recycle event is coming on Friday. Please plan to attend either to volunteer or to recycle. It's at St. Andrew's and is an event of the Sunrise Group.
  • Please also remember, as our Douglas County School Year ends soon, Filippo Molinari (pretend Arthur is saying his name :-)) is leaving us to return to Italy on June 2nd! Please, reach out to him as he gets ready to graduate and finish his year.

Filippo, we are so grateful to have had you and hope your time ends well and that we will see you again! Our very best to you as you move forward with University studies.
