Natasha Nola, Phil & Elaine Calderbank enjoyed margaritas at the launch party for the Costa Rica party! | Carl Dickerson, Founder of Give A Book Foundation, who we'll be working with on the trip |
Hummm, more enjoying of drinks - this time with Jan Keyton, Christine ONeal & Zig Berzins! | Gabe, Costa Rica Regional Manager for Peace Corps Volunteers (PCV) and Steve Werner, PCV and Rotarian and influential advocate for the RI and PCV partnership |
Around 30 people attended the launch for our 2 Costa Rica trips at the Rio Mexican Restaurant last Thursday. The Costa Rica Peace Corps (PCV)/Rotary partnership has proved to be very fruitful and members are clamoring to get in on the adventure! Talk to Bill Simmermon, Marion Trummer or Connie Golas if you're interested, but here's the skinny:
1. You'll make your own travel arrangements. Fly into San Jose, CR.
2. Costs to you will run about $150/day for accommodations & meals
3. Transportation from San Jose to the town where you'll be staying is provided
4. Core is 5 days of service with time on both ends for travel, so expect to be gone about 9-10 days
5. You'll be working at a baccalaureate high school l teaching conversational English
6. Lots to do for fun! One big thing is the weekend of the overlap, there will be a huge party, fiesta if you will, with Rotarians, other Coloradans also volunteering spending tand the PCV staff!
7. If you're spending the money, why not stay awhile and visit this incredible country!
SPEAKING OF 'PCV' - PEACE CORPS VOLUNTEERS...
