We hosted a luncheon last week to honor the students we sponsored to RYLA & YoungRYLA leadership camps this past July. The following students received their Award for camp: Hannah Murphy/Mtn Vista HS, Mayra Avila/Aurora Central HS, Allie Kellner/Rock Canyon HS, Nathan Korinek/Mtn Vista HS, Denver Simmermon/Brentwood College School, BC, Amber Liu/Rocky Heights MS, Annie Noelbel/MtnRidgeMS, Kat Begley/Rangeview MS, Destiny Grimes/Cresthill MS, Luke Guglielmo/Ben Franklin Academy.
The parents of these students also attending our luncheon, and Rotarians, enjoyed hearing of the marvelous adventures enjoyed at camp along with a few hardships encountered, but a 'life changing' experience was shared by all. The following observation was shared by Luke who was unable to attend due to travels of his family before school starts: "The most impressive thing I learned at camp was that communication makes greater leaders. If you sit quietly in the corner, observing alone won't help. What will help is observing and talking."

District 5450 will be hosting hundreds of Rotarians for the Zone Institute on September 9-14.
District leaders from zones 21B and 27 – 22 Districts and 1096 Clubs - will be gathering at the Westin Hotel in Westminster (Church Ranch Road just north of US 36). Volunteers are needed to bring visiting Rotarians from DIA to the Westin Hotel.

Highlands Ranch Rotary is joining with the other Rotary Clubs in the District to sponsor the Fall 9 Health Fair at Castle Rock Adventist Hospital on Sunday October 5 from 7:00 AM to 12 Noon. We have four Rotarians signed up to help along with two spouses. If you can volunteer please join us. You don't have to be there all 5 hours and if you have a Bronco commitment you can starrt with set up at 6:00 AM and be done when you want to be. Please let Bill Piche know if you can participate.
