At the Sunrise11/19 meeting, a motion was made and approved to have Tom Keyton be a Director on our Sunrise Board, rounding out our Board positions. Our Board consists of Ray Leaycraft, Chair; Erik Neimeier, Past Chair; Joel Johnson, Treasurer; Colette Hepp, Recording Secretary; Gary Smith, Rotary Foundation representative; Steve Aguilar, Director; and Tom Keyton, Director.
We were pleased to welcome guests Cindy Rold, District Governor and Rad Elekovic, Assistant Governor Douglas County. We enjoyed hearing from Cindy on the three things she’s asking of each club – 1) check in; 2) invite; and 3) appreciate. She also discussed data and measuring our efforts for impact and effectiveness, the benefits of exploring individual club cultures, and some fun stories from her worldly travels through Rotary.
Our next meeting is tomorrow, December 3 at 7:15 a.m., with Santa Clothes at Kohl’s on the following Wednesday, December 10, at 6:45 a.m.

Cindy Rold belonged to a Toastmasters Club. She had never heard of Rotary. Never.
A fellow Toastmaster suggested that, because she was a veteran of international travel and because he'd noted that she had a generous heart, she ought to consider checking out a Rotary Club. She did, and before long she was President of the Littleton Club and found herself cleaning up the room after celebrating the Centennial of that group's existence when another member said, “you should consider running for District Governor of 5450.” It was in that role that she spoke to us and recommended three courses of action: 1) Check in with folks…in depth! 2) Invite someone to do SOMETHING, like her Toastmaster friend did for her, & 3) Let those you appreciate know about your appreciation.
It's a mantra well worth considering…
From Bob Larson:
Wine and other spirits are always popular at our auctions but it would be good to provide some new products to go on the auction block. Please let Bob Larson know if you have something that is unique and might have some special interest to our club members that would prompt bidding. As they say one person’s trash is another’s treasure so think about items that you don’t use which might be of value to our competitive audience. Time shares, extra tickets to sporting events, floral arrangements, holiday guest items, candies-youname it. These auctions raise money for the club and add a little pizazz to the meetings.
