DID YOU MISS LAST WEEK'S MEETING? HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED
JAN & TOM KEYTON DISCUSSED THE RYLA PROCESS
RYLA stands for Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. Each year the club sponsors this program where we donate tuition to area students to attend camp at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park. This year, the club has 5 students. The goal is to mentor teens.
Two more such camps are Young RYLA for incoming 8th graders and RYLA+, which is for handicapped children and is held at the Easter Seals Camp in Georgetown.
Debbie Henry reported on her daughter Carter's attendance last year. In a tearful, heartfelt presentation, she discussed how Carter needed something to help her fit in. Debbie so hoped RYLA would help her daughter achieve that goal and she happily announced that it did - in spades! Carter took her experiences to heart, is still in contact with friends she made at camp and Debbie feels she is on the right track, thanks to RYLA!
TAMMY FENNEL'S CLASSIFICATION TALK
We got to meet a wonderful new member, Tammy Fennel! One of her main talk points is her passion for Mental Health advocacy. She works hard to remove the stigma of mental health anomalies and she's even been involved in crisis intervention training with the police.
In her current life, Tammy has taken her interest in interior design and matched it up with her work as a realtor with Caldwell Banker. Many of you have met her husband Kurt, who is a beekeeper hobbyist. She also has a son in college. Welcome Tammy!
STUDENT OF THE MONTH Student Emily Morris plans to attend Middlebury College in the fall where she will study philosophy. In her international baccalaureate essay, she discussed existentialism and ith's presence in the book, Catcher in the Rye. She also learned to crochet and makes hats for babies in local hospitals. She also won the Grizzly Proud award for outstanding teamwork with her softball team

LET’S SEND JUDY ROONEY OFF IN STYLE!
Thursday will be Judy’s last meeting here at HR Rotary before her move to
