Very early Saturday morning, July 27, 10 Rotarians arrived at the Ronald McDonald House in Aurora to make a little breakfast for 60 people. Under the very capable direction of our newest official member, Arthur Cone, a trained chef, we orchestrated a delicious meal for families in crisis, whose children were all at the hospital. Jerry & Goldie, Tom & Debbie Havens, Betsy Alexander, Connie Golas, Kim Hibler, Jim & Sue Bramley, and Arthur & daughter, Corie were on hand to make fast work of 75 pancakes, nearly 80 eggs, 8 pounds of meat, cheese, and hash browns and a mountain of fresh fruit. We knew we had the formula down when one of the guests from Utah asked if we were a Morman group because we worked so well together! I told him we were Rotarians and he said we obviously work well together, too! Many thanks to all!
On behalf of all of the families and staff at Ronald McDonald House Charities Aurora, we would like to extend our gratitude to you for making such a wonderful meal for us. It was enjoyed by all. A nice meal is just the break some of our families needed. This is the time families can spend together without worrying about the stress of doctors’ appointments, hospital stays, or the health of their child. Your service is greatly appreciated and we cannot thank you enough. So from all of us to you we say thank you! ~Ronald McDonald House of Aurora Families and Staff

“Excellence is never an accident.
It is always the result of high intention,
sincere effort, and intelligent execution.
It represents the wise choice of many alternatives.
Choice, not chance, determines your destiny.”
