THIS WEEK:Einar Jensen, Home Fire Mitigation
Greeter(s): Maria Narvaez
Inspiration: Terre Cone
50/50 winner: Jim Kelley
LAST WEEK:Jeannie Ritter, Mental Health Ambassador
Debby proudly introduced Jeannie who made her focus as an advocate for mental health as former First Lady of Colorado (2007-11). Jeannie is a mental health ambassador with WellPower, www.wellpower.org. She described how we can't make an impact without technology; use early to connect people to access. DU is creating an app for young people to have an avenue for help with their own well-being/better health. Their goal is to keep viewers engaged and offer solutions such as where is a nearby food bank. A new plus, Medicaid now reimbursing behavior health services over the phone. Now using behavioral health counselors to meet people where they are. Our pediatric mental health endowment will support creating a stronger work force by using younger workforce vs top tier caregivers. Look at doing things differently; beginning July 16, 988 will replace 911 as a national movement help line.
We welcomed Nita Sosebee (her 2nd visit), Justin Kruger (from Project Helping, projecthelping.org), Jeremy Rawls, Maurice Ayeboua, Shelley Falk and her husband, Dr. Mike Parrish, and Chip Hartney who turned in his membership application and our newest member! Welcome.
"The Phil's" birthday rendition during the Secretary's report.
The International Service Committee surprised Shelley Falk and her husband with a $2500 check for "Hope to Walk" allowing 10 individuals to receive a below the knee prosthetic.
Carl Husmann had his induction receiving his red badge from Ron Lester his mentor and Elya his sponsor.
Bill honored Jan and her passion for "RYLA magic". Jan has been involved with RYLA since 2009 and has kept our Club involved and participating. The peach/pear sales support sending young people to RYLA. This year we will send 13 campers to RYLA and young RYLA plus 4 more from the Castle Pines Club. Also contributing to RYLA Plus. Jan thanked Paul Campbell for his support in her recent absence.

Zuma's Rescue Ranch - Sue Bramley
Last week, the Sunrise group held their meeting at Zuma’s Rescue Ranch in the beautiful valley west of Santa Fe and south of Sterling Ranch. It truly is God’s country. They got a bird's eye view of the equestrian rescue and education center, going behind the scenes to see what goes on in this great place of nature & horses. They're also home to a cow, goats, three miniature horses (Jerry, Elaine, and Kramer – unfortunately they lost George), two donkeys & numerous dogs & cats. The Keyton's joined this meeting and were very impressed with the operation. Each month during the summer, the Ranch holds outdoor concert/fundraisers on the property complete with a western band, the next being Saturday, June 11, 5pm.
