DID YOU MISS LAST WEEK'S MEETING?  HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED:

WE ALL HAVE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF AMENDMENT 69
Walker Stapleton is in his second term as State Treasurer of Colorado.  He envisions a more fiscally responsible and effective state government as well as bring a higher level of accountability and transparency to government
Jan and Justin are seen here hobnobbing with our illustrious guests, Walker Stapleton, Kevin Van Winkle, Highlands Ranch House District 43 representative and David Sabados, speaking for ColoradoCare.
David Sabados is a principal of Compass Strategy Group, a political consulting firm based in Denver.  He is working with ColoradoCare.  If passed, ColoradoCare would replace most other health insurance in the state.  it would be funded by a new 10% payroll tax on workers.  It would be run by an elected board.

Fifty eight people listened to the club's first voter education event, a debate on Amendment 69. This event was in no way intended to sway your vote, but to educate members on one of the most controversial amendments in this year's election.

We had 16 guests join us Thursday.  The debate took approximately 45 minutes, leaving 15 for happy bucks.  Duly noted was that most guests participated in happy bucks as well, so we upped the ante in cash collections for our various programs.

Thanks to Justin Vaughn for serving as moderator, keeping both speakers and questions from the audience on track.

Thanks also to Zig Bergins for setting up the debate and securing such esteemed presenters.

OTHER NEWS THAT'S FIT TO PRINT

DEL FRESCO'S HOSTED A RECEPTION TO HONOR JAN SELINFREUND'S PRESIDENCY

Some enchanted evening - for Jan, that is - as 25 or so members gathered at Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse for a reception hosted by the restaurant management to honor our president!

The food was great, particularly the rare wagyu beef corn dogs! But even better was the company!

GREAT GALA!
ARE WE READY FOR A GOOD TIME?

We've worked on this event all year and it's coming to fruition on Saturday, Oct. 8!  Get ready to eat, drink, be merry and spend some money!  As Jan is so fond of saying, 'this event pays for everything our club does...from IFCS to Costa Rica to military to scholarships' just to name a few. So put on your best garb and come prepared to have a good time!

This is what we'll see on Saturday, Oct. 8...well not quite the same room (this is in Miami), but close to it - at the Marriott South in Lone Tree!
