OTHER NEWS THAT'S FIT TO PRINT
MEET YOUR NEW PRESIDENT!
If she's the trainer, she needs to know what it's like to be in a space suit!
Zero gravity is a unique experience, of which she had plenty!
Cindy Begley is literally a Supergirl (look at her t-shirt above, it tells us this)! She spent a large part of her career working for NASA, training astronauts for space walks, the space shuttle and mission control. Love that she also did vomit comet testing & training! Cindy received her PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Houston. She and husband, Mike, both work on the Orion Project on deep space systems out at Lockheed.
They have their hands full at home with 4 kids and a property management company, in addition to work at Lockheed. In fact, her son Zach was a Rotary scholarship winner, which is how she found out about Rotary. She was so impressed that she joined the club and now serves as president. All that keeps Cindy very busy so, sadly, she had to give up her pilot's license. Maybe she'll be able to renew it following her stint as president!
Cindy's sees her job this year as accomplishing exceptional work in our community and having fun with good friends while doing it!
