OTHER NEWS THAT'S FIT TO PRINT

PUT IT TOGETHER FOR OUR SPRING 17 FRIENDSHIP DINNER HOSTS!

Thanks to Reen Gottron, Michelle McRae, Arthur Cone, Marion Trummer, Lee McCue, the Bramleys, the DiLorenzos ... for hosting the spring friendship dinners.  Fifty six club members signed up to attend.  Cuisines varied from Mexican to tenderloin to curry to surf & turf as guests visited, learned more about each other, shared recipes and indulged in a variety of beverages. Don't miss out on this fun event the next time it rolls around!

SMALL TEAM HAD BIG RESULTS AT THE CRAWFORD HOUSE SATURDAY

It's been awhile in the making, but the gazebo is finally underway.  The boys even got a view of the Colorado Springs St. Patrick's Day parade.
Jim Bramley & Kyle Kucharski worked hard in spite of all the traffic honks they got from girls!
Steve Miller & Tim Sparks rounded out the team
Kyle's height helped them get the top on the gazebo.

CANVAS & COCKTAILS MONDAY, MARCH 27

HR Rotary participating in the trendiest night out in Denver? Heck yeah! Potluck & painting, what a great way to spend a Monday evening.  Ms. Debbie Henry has arranged a great evening that you won't want to miss.

A mere $45 will get you in the door to wow your clubmates with your talents, both on the canvas and from your kitchen.  Sign up sheets are making their way around at upcoming meetings. Be there or be square!

A NEW PLAN TO MAKE MEETINGS EASIER TO MANAGE FOR JAN

The new inspiration calendar is a boon to chairman Tim Sparks as people are booked in advance and there are no last minute surprises.  That is, unless you switch with someone.  I did that at last week's meeting and didn't tell Jan.  When it came time for the inspiration and I wasn't around, she didn't realize I had arranged for a replacement and she scrambled to find someone. It all worked out in the end, but the oversight left her high and dry.

So, in order to keep the meeting running smoothly, if you must change with someone, just let Jan & Tim know.  It's just one quick email and will most definitely help.  And while we're at it, if you need to miss your scheduled inspiration or greeter sign up, it is your responsibility to find a replacement.

ANOTHER WAY TO CELEBRATE THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF WOMEN IN ROTARY
The Golden Rotary Club is sponsoring a 30th Anniversary of Women in Rotary event.  With the privilege of having Dr. Sylvia Whitlock serve as the honoree, the first woman club president in Rotary, this celebration will be April 22 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. and will feature all the women leaders from Golden Rotary and District 5450.  PDG Talee Crowe will serve as emcee for this “coffee and conversation” with Dr. Whitlock.  All Rotarians/friends/guests are invited.  Net proceeds will be donated to help end Polio in honor of the past, present, and future women Rotarians. You can register for the event on the Golden Club's home page, http://rotaryclubofgolden.org/.
