PRESIDENT'S RECEPTION FOR NEW MEMBERS

Are you a new member in the last year? President Cindy is hosting a reception for you!  Saturday evening, Oct. 7 is the place to see and be seen, a place to get better acquainted with other new members and brainstorm directions you'd like to see the club go towards.  We're calling you the 'class of 16/17' just to put everyone in the wonderful mindset of our college years where the world was our oyster!  Spouses are welcome and a great way for them to bond as well.

It starts at 5:30 and is an hors d'oeuvre pot luck.  Just to get things rolling, bring a bottle-or 2-so you can learn to party like a rock star - er, I mean Rotarian!  For more information, contact Elaine Calderbank or Natasha Nola.

Ais has been the director of The Denver Indian Center since 4/1/2016.  He is Eastern Shoshone/Northern Ute/Scotch Irish and was raised by his single mother in a small town outside Wind River reservation in Wyoming.  The mission of The Denver Indian Center is to empower native youth, families, and community thru self-determination, cultural identity, and education.  Its vision is to be engaging, innovative and transformative, with transparency as they provide their work relatives and native community with the highest quality programs and services.  They have appreciated the support of Rotary past projects for a playground, equipment for preschool as well as supplying food for pantry, holiday meals and gift for native children at Christmas.  They will be hosting an open house in October and announcing details for a capital campaign for much needed building improvements.  More details to follow.
