DID YOU MISS LAST WEEK'S MEETING? HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED
FORMER REPORTER DISCUSSED THE DECLINE OF TV NETWORK NEWS
Greg Dobbs launched his career in journalism as an editor for Paul Harvey on ABC Radio. While spending more than 20 years covering major news stories such as the Gulf War, revolutions and takeovers, natural disasters and civil wars as an ABC News correspondent, Dobbs earned two national Emmys as well as awards and recognition from groups such as the Society of Professional Journalists. Now a correspondent for HDNet television’s “World Report,” Dobbs has compiled the stories that happen behind-the-news-scenes for his book Life in the Wrong Lane.

JERRY JOINS THE RAT PACK!
Our own Jerry Selinfreund was honored by the NCOA International Auxiliary as the #1 supporter nationally! Jerry has been a passionate supporter of NCOA over the years. His work was acknowledged recently at this presentation, shown here with Diane Carnahan, international president of the NCOA auxiliary.
This award makes Jerry a member of NCOA's RAT PACK, honoring his accredited accomplishments. (See Wheel story from May 3).
Hip, hip hurray to Jerry!
DON'T KID YOURSELF, THERE IS A TROPHY FOR MOST PEACHES SOLD!
Not all peach sellers are the same! There are the average sellers, then there is the SPECTACULAR SELLERS...that would be the group in the running for the famous Roving Trophy award! Who wouldn't want to win this fantastic trophy? Here are past rankings:
2015: First place was Judy Rooney (see how she went from third to first in 1 year!), 2nd: Ray Anderson stepped up!, 3rd: Yes, a tie between Mary Kay and Neil Delo!
2014: 1st place to Joe Roos 2nd: Mary Kay 3rd: Judy Rooney
So step it up people - brush up your sales skills and get on the band wagon! The peach sale funds RYLA, so let's send kids to camp!

HOBBIES
Hobbies - love to garden, enjoy long walks and do so daily on Highline Trail. Walking my Labrador, Rocky, who is my personal trainer. Being with my 3 grandchildren is more passion than hobby..
ROTARY PASSION
Rotary passion is community service. I have worked with the community service committee on projects every year except when I was President of our club.
FAVORITE VACATION SITE
Vacations are a rare thing for me. My favorite place to spend time is in the mountains, preferably in a luxury hotel. Love to take car trips with my husband to visit museums and historical sites. San Antonio visit to the Alamo was a great trip.
SOMETHING NO ONE KNOWS!
I married my Prom date! Bill & I got married 5 years later, after college. That was 51 years ago in June.

A photo of Jackass Hill park, where Carolyn walks her dog, Rocky, daily. It is the highest point in Littleton. The Bradish's live directly below the spot where this photo was taken.

I get misty-eyed when I look at this great pic I took of Carolyn and Bill, along with Jim Bramley! BTW, I got a new phone, so future photos should be better!

PROGRAM COMMITTEE'S FIRST BIG EVENT - A DEBATE
Our first big program will be held on September 29 when we present a debate on Amendment 69 - Cover Colorado. Zig is bringing together Colorado's State Treasurer, Walter Stapleton, to present the 'con' side of the argument and Kai Abelkis, a Boulder Rotary Club member, representing Colorado Care, the not-for-profit promoting Amendment #69. This will be a first for our club and give members a view from both sides in order to make an educated choice on this new proposal.
