50/50 Winner: Arthur Cone
We welcomed Peter and Jennie Grondorf, Steve Baroch and Denise Frazier from the High Noon Castle Rock Club, Victor Burdick friend of Bill's and former Rotarian, Dale Pickine (WWII Veteran) and his daughter Beth White, and Bill Medlicott from Sunrise.
Last Week:Veterans Day Remembrance - Mike Foss,
Sandy Austin - Bullying in Schools, and Denise Frazier - Navajo Language Dictionaries
The meeting began with Mike Foss commemorating Veteran's Day followed by Jimmy Kinley honoring the 20 Veterans in our Club. Finally, Tom recognized and awarded Dale Pickine for his dedicated service to our Country in WWII.
Denise and Steve joined us from Castle Rock to inform us of their ongoing project to deliver dictionaries to the Navajo Nation of NE Arizona. The Nation of 250,000 encompassing 27,400 sq miles is challenged by poor income, often no water or electricity, no internet access, and decreased reading skills. Their goal is for every child to have a dictionary.
Jan introduced Sandy Austin who informed us of BIONIC (Believe It Or Not I Care).
BIONIC was developed in 2004 at Green Mountain HS in response to suicides of four students and equips students to reach out to those who are experiencing bullying and other challenges.
Bill introduced our Student of the Month, Kate Issacs, from Thunder Ridge High School.

From the Board Room
Our Club has a new nameHighlands Ranch Rotary Club. This name should now be used on all documents that pertain to the Club.
Note:we were instructed by RI that they prefer the name to be like this and not The Rotary Club of Highlands Ranch.
A committee is being formed to determine the next President-Elect; please inform Tom if interested in participating.
