Last Week - Bob Kemp, District Governor, and Recognition of Mary Kay Hasz
Bob shared our challenges: 5% drop in District membership and decrease in donations. And offered opportunities: engage virtually around the world and membership more available. We must re-commit to eradicate polio; offer members the ability to engage in new and creative ways; get new people into the fold; and, come out of this stronger and more resilient. "This can be our finest opportunity."
We welcomed the following guests: Gail Lehrmann, Area 4, Eric Thompson, TRF staff, Eric Zeek, Warrior Bonfire, and Mike and Kris Westcot, NCOA
Tamie introduced Highlands Ranch High School's outstanding student, Stella Al Samardli, and Kelly Corr, the Dean of Students, who described Stella as a dedicated, hard-working student leader with a broad involvement in school activities.
Congratulations to Mary Kay Hasz as she was honored and recognized for her many years of dedication to membership development and overall commitment to the spirit of our Club. With the Rotary Club of Highlands Ranch Mary Kay Hasz Membership Award, our Club will seek to annually recognize a District 5450 Rotarian that has significantly improved membership and Club growth by demonstrating leadership, a positive role model, inventiveness, dedication to retention, and consistent demonstration of Service Above Self in their actions.
And, a special thanks to Jim Kelley for spearheading this recognition.
Congratulations Ray Anderson, our District Governor for 2021-2022, we have your back!
Congratulations Bill Leeper and Quizvid 19, the final quiz winner; $50 will be donated to Help & Hope. And, a big thanks to Elaine and Phil, Shrin, and Guy for the great questions and fun.

Please join theHighlands Ranch Rotary Sunrise Clubfor our regular meetings. We are currently meeting virtually and hope to return to Children’s Hospital in Highlands Ranch soon. We are still a very active club, have regular speakers, participate in “safe” service volunteer opportunities, and strive to make a difference in the community. And we have fun at the same time!
Zoom call meetings are the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 7:15 – 8:30 am. Please contact either Gary Smith (303-522-3355) or Elena Cumberbatch-Lynch (303-875-3418) for the Zoom meeting link. This is a great opportunity for a make-up meeting or for potential members that cannot easily attend noon meetings. We look forward to seeing you and welcome any guests that would like to join us!
