We welcomed Nicole Handel from Denver Metro South, visiting Rotarians Perrie Erickson and Amanda Biffle, and Bill Leeper's guest Kristi Conrad. We also welcomed Scott Smith's wife Karen.
Scott introduced Alicia Chan, her mother, and her counselor from Rock Canyon High School. Alicia is yet another student exhibiting her multifaceted impressive talents highlighting her ability to work effectively with her peers and contribute meaningfully to her school and local community.
Bob shared both the Lone Tree Herald and the Highlands Ranch Herald that highlighted our Rotary Endowed Fellowship for Pediatric Mental Health on their front page.
Scott Smith received his blue badge, rather the first gold badge, from his friends and mentors.
Announcements
Connie circulated the signup sheet for Santa Kohl's, Tues, Dec 5th for volunteers where 25 children will receive $150 credit at Kohl's.
Mark Eberly has a hospital bed if anyone has a need.
HIPS, Hide in Plain Site, has been renamed Aspire Scholarships, a name that signifies the reality that while many struggling youths have incredible potential, the opportunity to realize it is too often unavailable. Your gift between now and December 31st will be matched dollar for dollar and 100% will go directly to scholarships, thanks to their partnership with the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI). Giving Tuesday (11/28) or Colorado Gives Day (12/5) presents opportunities to support the causes we care most about; their goal is to raise $100,000 by year’s end to qualify for a $100,000 match from COSI, allowing us to award $200,000 in scholarships over the next two years.
As we move forward Bob suggests
members consider giving any unused time shares they might have this winter for auction. These have sold well in the past and would be a nice departure from our usual wine offerings. Any donation of time shares, or other items, can be deducted as a charitable contribution at the value the item sells for at auction.
Family of Rotary
