LAST WEEK
Steve Miller, Highlands Ranch Rotary Foundation Update
After providing the Foundation's history Steve described their Board of Trustees; 6 at large Trustees serving 3-year terms with a maximum of 2 consecutive 3-year terms, plus the current Club President (7th member). There are 3 Trustees whose terms expire Jun 30th: Tom Keyton, Jane Kucharski, and Li Liu. Per their bylaws 2 consecutive weeks of nominations will commence Apr 1 for opening nominations for these positions, followed by 2nd nominations on Apr 8, and finally Apr 14 will be the deadline to respond to Steve's email for the final election announcement on Apr 15. Nominations may be from both the Sunrise and Noon groups.
All are welcome to attend their Board meetings; next meeting on Apr 8. The Gala is the primary source of their monies plus the peach/pear sales, 5% of endowment, donations, and Amazon Smile. (Grocery card monies go to the Club not the Foundation.) The 5 avenues where their money is primarily spent are Community Service, Military Support, International Service, Youth Services (RYLA, Young RYLA, RYLA plus, Interact, and Scholarship program), and District and International grants with each of these requesting their annual budget allocations. The Foundation in turn makes decisions on larger donations and sponsorships for community service organizations such as HIPS, Help & Hope Center, IFCS, JAMLAC, Shelter Box, Project C.U.R.E, St. Francis Center, and Bessie's Hope. The Foundation actively seeks donation recommendations from Club members; request the request form to be presented at their Board meetings.
We welcomed Tori Nied and our latest new member. Welcome Tori!

MVHS Interact Club Update - Grace Roscoe
Plans for completing their semester include: IFCS Paper Good Collection that will be open to all kids at MVHS to donate, participating in the May 8th Recycling event, as well as continuing to send video messages to our local old folks home Brookedale. This month's Brookedale video is all about your Spring Break, talking about your favorite thing you did and what your favorite part of spring is. At the end of April we are also holding an Earth Day clean up around our school to help give back to our earth while also keeping MVHS looking clean. As this school year is slowly coming to an end we have continued to do the Peaceful Schools Program where we zoom into classrooms, grades 1-3, at a local elementary school to read and discuss books. This program has and will continue to be a great success.
The MVHS Interact Club is enjoying being able to interact with our community and provide a few smiles to others faces during these insane times. We appreciate and thank you for your continuous support.
Many thanks Grace for keeping us up to date with your generous activities.

Please join theHighlands Ranch Rotary Sunrise Clubfor our regular meetings. We are currently meeting virtually and hope to return to Children’s Hospital in Highlands Ranch soon. We are still a very active club, have regular speakers, participate in “safe” service volunteer opportunities, and strive to make a difference in the community. And we have fun at the same time!
Zoom call meetings are the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 7:15 – 8:30 am. Please contact either Gary Smith (303-522-3355) or Elena Cumberbatch-Lynch (303-875-3418) for the Zoom meeting link. This is a great opportunity for a make-up meeting or for potential members that cannot easily attend noon meetings. We look forward to seeing you and welcome any guests that would like to join us!
