Student volunteers join Noon Rotary members to work for Ukraine
Noon Club members readying to open the solar panel cartons…
…as students help to convert them into phone chargers…
…to aid the embattled citizens of Ukraine.
Win Pendleton, founding member of the Fly'n B satellite club, spoke to the noon club with a message concerning constellations and tilted axes. Turns out that many of us have been reading the wrong horoscopes for our entire lives!

Sunrise Club
Preparing breakfast at Brent's Place…
…on a snowy Friday morning…
…for eighty-three families
We received Rotary Foundation updates from Gary, an update on the Snowball Express from the Keytons, and an update on Santa Clothes from Bill. Our Sunrise Club sponsored 12 kids at Kohl’s on December 7 and had $290 left over to donate to the Denver Indian Center, as we do each year.
A motion was made to elect Colette Hepp as Chair Elect for the Sunrise Club’s 2026-2027 year. Motion was approved and we now have that position filled! We are looking for someone to take over Colette's current duties as Recording Secretary, Wheel Spinner contributor, and service hours tracker.
Our club’s grant applications are due to be reviewed at our January 21 meeting, so a reminder was given to all champions to gather the information needed to get those forms in so we can start to distribute funds near the top of the year.
Finally, we loved having Avi Petrucci, Cortney Mabry and Kit Mworia-Hooper from Brent’s Place as our guests to give an update on our club’s work with Brent’s Place these last 6 months. Our club has become their strongest, most consistent partner in such a short period of time, having volunteered more than 120 hours, serving 667 meals, and providing 3 donation drop-offs. We have also donated $5,000 for an individualized support program, and will consider their request for critical support in the year to come for a family check-in program. They are always looking for new linens (Queen and Twin XL) and we will discuss a drive for that need as well.
We still have a few volunteer slots to prepare breakfast at Brent’s Place on May 22 and June 26. It is a fun time at this wonderful organization; if you’d like to participate please reach out to Ray Leaycraft.
