Last Week:Chanel Mikel, Hide in Plain Site (HIPS)
Joe Roos, former member and now Friend of Rotary initiated HIPS 8 years ago and our Club partnered with him. Sue introduced Chanel who is continuing Joe's vision. For newer members, HIPS serves as a springboard to post high school education for homeless and impoverished students. They provide scholarships to reduce the barriers in order for them to attend college or vocational school. These scholarships help cover the cost of tuition and of basic need insecurities including food, housing, transportation and technology. They partner with businesses, local schools, and community organizations to make possibilities a reality for these students. Chanel introduced Pam Swift, in charge of student sourcing. For more information regarding HIPS, https://hideplainsite.org.
Thank you, Arthur, for officiating the meeting and for sharing the heartfelt thank you note from the Ronald McDonald House. Tom is experiencing health issues and we appreciate Arthur stepping in.
Bill introduced our Student of the Month, another amazing student, Jaden Litwiler from Stem School. Jaden's mother and counselor joined her.
Terre introduced Julia Lennon from We Don't Waste and presented her with a $500 check for their organization. Julia briefly described their organization; for more information www.wedontwaste.org. Terre will now be a speaker for We Don't Waste.

Lee Mulberry announced the Sunrise Group is now recognized by Rotary International as an official Satellite Club. The official name is TheRotary Satellite Club of Highlands Ranch Sunrise, CO, USA.
Lee is the Chair and wants us to continue calling the club ‘Sunrise Group’. The Noon club is the Sponsor Club; please do not use the term ‘Parent Club’.
Marion Trummer continues helping the team garner interest for the formation of a Rotary club at Wind Crest. There are not yet enough prospective members.
A new set of Bylaws is in the final phase and the draft will be sent to all members in the next couple of weeks.
Membership update: including the Sunrise Group, 94 Active Members and 5 Honorary members.
It was quite an interesting wine auction last week. With the support of our Student of the Month's mom, Jaden had bidding in a frenzy and a bottle of Pinot Nior sent $320 to our Foundation. A special thanks to Maria for donating the wine as well as the Sees candies placed on all the tables.
Family of Rotary Concerns
We are happy to hear Betsy is home and doing well. Prayers answered, Christine has no metastasis and will have her last chemo this week. Tom Keyton is having cardiac issues and has been encouraged to decrease stress. He also recently learned he will need a shoulder replacement. Sending strength and courage to Terre as she begins to understand the sudden hearing loss in her right ear.
Healing prayers and best wishes to all.
