It was a pleasure to welcome members from the Belen Club in Costa Rica, Antonio Echeverrla, Martha Gutierrez, and
their daughter Hewie sharing Club flags and gifts.
Debbie Beasley from the Rotary Club of Denver presented us with The Ray Jenkins Award for outstanding contributions or service to the Rotary International Foundation. It is the second time we have received the award as the number one Club in the District for giving. Because of our dedication to Doing Good in the World and our support of our Foundation, we achieved more in the last Rotary year than ever before in The Rotary Foundation’s history raising more than $440.7 million!
We also welcomed John Logan's son, Ryan, and our newest member, Alan Balfour. Welcome Alan!
Bob auctioned off another fantastic bottle of pinot noir; Jon Heggie was the proud winner.
Announcements
Bob Larson described the community awards programs with King Sooper and Safeway each donating 5% to our Club. For King Sooper go online and enter your King Sooper card number. For Safeway, purchase a card loading it with whatever dollar amount you choose. "If you're eating you should be part of this!"
Bill introduced Kelsey as the Chair of Youth Services including RYLA, Interact, and scholarships. Congratulations and thank you Kelsey!
Patricia announced the International Service Committee is now meeting the 2nd Thursday at 11 am at Lone Tree. She is asking for new members necessary to achieve their goals.
Jerry Selinfreund gave an update on the Military Service Committee: partnering with the Community Service Committee, the first quarterly meal at Crawford House was a success. The Military Service Committee has also provided funds for food shortages at the Crawford House.
Jane would like help chairing the Social Committee, who will join her?
The Friendship Dinners are scheduled for Oct 15 and 16. See signup sheet indicating which day you would like to attend and if you are willing to host a dinner. Spouses and significant others welcome. New members, this a great opportunity for you to meet the Club.
Family of Rotary Concerns
We are pleased to learn Carolyn and Bill Bradish have recovered successfully from Covid and look forward to seeing Carolyn this week.
Reen is asking for visitors as she recuperates at home on 5 weeks of IV antibiotics.
Floyd experienced a fall resulting in surgery. He is now at Holly Creek, 5500 E Peakview Ave, Centennial 80121, and also asking for visitors.
Community Service
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT THE CRAWFORD HOUSE
The Community Service & Military committees are partnering to provide quarterly meals for the Crawford House. The next meal will be a cook out on Saturday, Oct. 2; 6 volunteers needed. If you're interested in participating, please notify either Sue Bramley or Tamie Fennel.
The Crawford House is in need of disinfectant surface cleaning supplies such as antibacterial wipes, spray, and bleach. We will begin collecting them Sep 23 and 30 to deliver on Oct 2nd.
Help & Hope is continuing painting and some dry wall; please see signup sheet to volunteer. 8 volunteers needed for Sep 11th.
As you clean out your closets pull out those clothes, hats, shoes, etc. you haven't worn for months/years for the St. Francis Center/Samaritan House clothing drive the end of Oct/early Nov.

Project Angel Heart continues to collect decorated bags for food distribution.
