LAST WEEK:Pediatric Mental Health and Children's Hospital
Yes, we did it! We did something that hasn't been done since raising money for the polio eradication program, over $500,000 was raised. Thanks to a dream, Shrin's dream that gathered support from Children's Hospital and our Club. Without the support and dedication of Shrin, Debby, Tamie, and the Pediatric Mental Health team, his dream could not be realized. This week's meeting was to honor that dream and its success creating and funding the Rotary Endowed Fellowship for Pediatric Mental Health. Kary Lagar attended the meeting representing Children's Hospital.
Connie shared a message from Bill Simmermon who was visiting his father to tie up this amazing program. And we all shared in a champagne toast.
We welcomed Gary Smith from Sunrise, Nancy Barton Debby Doig's friend of 51 years, Shrin's wife Lekha, and Kary Lagar COO Children's Hospital Foundation.
Congratulations Bill Leeper, interim Foundation Trustee. We trust he is recovering from Covid.
Bob Larson passed the "You Rock" award to Elizabeth Scofield.
Elaine will order the new gold Rotary badges for those who signed up for the cost of $15.

MVHS Interact Club Update - Grace Roscoe
Hello Rotary Friends,
I hope you are all doing well. The school year has been off to an incredible start! The MVHS Interact Club has already participated in many events this year.
The MVHS Interact Club has had great success thus far this year. We started the year off with several events. We started our year with the annual Rootbeer Float Social to recruit new members and spread the word about all our fantastic activities. We also helped distribute peaches into cars with Rotary. During homecoming week, we held a Bake Sale during the Unified Kickball Game and Girls Powderpuff game. We donated $253.25 back to our school's Unified Program and raised $600 for the Maui Relief. We hosted our first Peaceful Schools of the Year this month, working with first graders, reading books, and discussing important themes and lessons. After a three-year break due to COVID, we finally partnered with our middle school again and visited Brookdale residents, making crafts, singing songs, and dancing. We are so happy to have the opportunity to visit our lovely friends at our local Senior Living Center, Brookdale.
We look forward to hosting many more successful events this year!! We want to thank you for your continuous support of our club. We will continue to send you updates on all the activities we are participating in.
MVHS Officer,
Grace Roscoe
My apologies to Grace, I am unable to duplicate the outstanding photos she shared.
