LAST WEEK - Phil Calderbank, ShelterBox
Phil, our new contact person, introduced Kathleen Pierz, ShelterBox Ambassador. ShelterBox is an international disaster relief charity established in 2000 in Helston, Cornwall, UK, that provides emergency shelter and other aid items to families around the world who have lost their homes to disaster or conflict. In 2012 ShelterBox was named Rotary International's Global Project Partner in Disaster Relief. And, in 2020 RI and ShelterBox continue to partner to shelter families around the globe. Together ShelterBox and Rotary have sheltered 1.5 million people. Kathleen shared a video emphasizing the African word for home, KUNYUMBA, and how ShelterBox helps people take back their lives and their homes.
Upon invitation, Kathleen will attend events showcasing ShelterBox.

Announcements
The District Natural Disaster Response Committee is currently working with 4 local Rotarian clubs in Grand Lake and other effected Colorado areas to
determine how best to distribute donated funds for relief from the Cameron Peak and Troublesome fires. It will take some time before needs assessments can be completed. On the ground service opportunities to assist with the relief effort will most likely not occur until late spring or summer, after FEMA and other government
agencies have completed their assessments and work. In addition, our Club also contributed financially to the Southern Oregon Fire Disaster Relief fund.
Tamie thanked Debbie Leonard and Kevin Mizer as co-chairs of the Visioning committee. The results of the survey will be reported at the Board meeting Wednesday morning, 13th. Contact Tamie if you are interested in joining the meeting or wish to join the committee.

Please join theHighlands Ranch Rotary Sunrise Clubfor our regular meetings. We are currently meeting virtually and hope to return to Children’s Hospital in Highlands Ranch soon. We are still a very active club, have regular speakers, participate in “safe” service volunteer opportunities, and strive to make a difference in the community. And we have fun at the same time!
Zoom call meetings are the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 7:15 – 8:30 am. Please contact either Gary Smith (303-522-3355) or Elena Cumberbatch-Lynch (303-875-3418) for the Zoom meeting link. This is a great opportunity for a make-up meeting or for potential members that cannot easily attend noon meetings. We look forward to seeing you and welcome any guests that would like to join us!
