LAST WEEK - Kimba Langas, Free the Girls
Kimba, co-founder of Free the Girls, gave a sobering view into human (labor and/or sex) trafficking. There are 41 million enslaved across the globe providing $150 billion or $250,000 per girl per year. 80% of those rescued are re-exploited; their goal is addressing the systemic problems to prevent. Using rescue, rehabilitation, and reintegration FLG creates dignity not dependency allowing women to work for themselves selling bras. FTG is accepting new and gently used bras; we will host a bra drive.
We welcomed the following guest: Dan Fordice, founder of Warrior Bonfire in 2013. Dan thanked the Club for our continued support and generosity. And, we were happy to have Bob Martin, Bob Larson, and Gary Dani joining us.
Jerry Selinfreund and the Nominating Committee announced the 2nd week of nominating candidates from the floor for 2 year Board member beginning July 2021 and the President Elect Nominee in Waiting, 2023-2024. No new nominations were offered.
Tom McHugh accepted the Committee's nomination for Board member and Patricia Sznip for President Elect Nominee in Waiting.
