Our Speaker this week was Tony Hepp, who was also a RYLA student in 2015. Tony spoke about the Colorado 10th Mountain Division and its remarkable history since being founded in the 1930s. The 10th served nobly and effectively in WWII in the mountains surrounding Europe and beyond. They trained at Camp Hale, and they have had over 30,000 men in their ranks. The founder of the 10th Mountain Division went on to found the National Ski Patrol!
There is a compelling exhibit at History Colorado, the Museum on Broadway, with much more about these brave soldiers and the work they do. That is a great idea for a day outing with a grandkid or a friend!
