Inspiration: Connie Golas
50/50 winner: Jim Bramley will sell tickets this week
LAST WEEK: Doug Armbrust,
Paul Harris
Jan Keyton introduced our special guest speaker, Paul Harris the founder of Rotary. Doug was delightful as he portrayed Paul Harris sharing his life story and the initiation of Rotary.
Our inspiration, thanks Ron, was truly inspirational as we remember our Veterans and military support letting them know their sacrifices have not been in vain.
We welcomed Jennifer Starbuck from Highlands Ranch Lifestyle magazine, Dave Amen from eClub One, Sarah Armbrust (Doug's wife), and our new member applicant, Alan Balfour. Dave shared there are 500 eClubs with 80 members in his club from 17 time zones. On Zoom we welcomed Marc Solnet from the Denver SE Club.
If you haven't done so, please submit your Bright Futures sponsorship checks payable to Highlands Ranch Rotary Foundation, Inc., PO Box 632118, Highlands Ranch, CO 80163.
Also remember to RSVP to Tamie before Aug 31st with your name and number and names attending in your party. Please reference sponsorship level and remember there may be individuals needing a ticket(s) you may not be using for the event.
Bob auctioned off another fantastic bottle of red wine. Paul Harris bought the bottle for $100 and presented it to Jan Keyton.

Community Service
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT THE CRAWFORD HOUSE - Sue Bramley
The Community Service & Military committees are partnering to provide quarterly meals for the Crawford House, much in the same way as we do for the Ronald McDonald House. Last Tuesday was the first 'get acquainted' visit and meal delivery.
Our big plans for the next meal will be a cook out on Saturday, Oct. 2. We'll need 6 people to go in the mid afternoon to grill. This is our chance to interact with residents who are protected under HIPAA laws. So if they come out to partake, we can chat with them. We'll be getting the food at Costco - prepared burgers & sides, so the team will only have to grill. This will be a great hands on opportunity to help one of our most vulnerable groups so if you're interested in participating, please notify either Sue Bramley or Tamie Fennel. Military committee members, this activity sounds like it was made for you!
The Crawford House is in need of disinfectant surface cleaning supplies such as antibacterial wipes, spray, and bleach. We will begin collecting them Sep 23 and 30 to deliver on Oct 2nd.
Over 40 Kits for Kids were delivered to Project Cure. Thank you!
Help & Hope is continuing painting and some dry wall; please see signup sheet to volunteer. 8 volunteers needed for Sep 11th.
Sep 15 is the next IFCS pop-the-trunk, contact Claudia, 262-391-4833, if interested.
Connie Golas will be spearheading another dinner for parents at the Denver Ronald McDonald House in early Sep. Thanks to Mod Market for their willingness to prepare and deliver the food.
As you clean out your closets pull out those clothes, hats, shoes, etc. you haven't worn for months/years for the St. Francis Center/Samaritan House clothing drive the end of Oct/early Nov.
Contact Elizabeth, 970-799-4321, if interested in volunteering at ReStore and register at habitatmetrodenver.org (click the ReStores tab).
Project Angel Heart continues to collect decorated bags for food distribution.
Remember to send your volunteer hours to Elizabeth including your name, what activity you participated in, the date of the activity, and the number of hours, 970-799-4321.
