LAST WEEK
Jenny Lee and Stacie Naslund,
The 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer's
We learned Alzheimer's is the most common form of dementia. It is a brain disease that causes a slow decline in memory, thinking, and reasoning skills. We also learned the 10 warning signs of which we all have at least one. The key is early diagnosis and living a healthy brain lifestyle. For more information and understanding go to alz.org or their 24/7 helpline, 800.272.3900. You may reach out to Jenny at jelee@alz.org.
We welcomed the following guests:
Tori Nied and Michelle Andre.

May 8th and the recycling event seems a long way off but the planning needs to happen now. Marty Genereux needs approximately 60 volunteers for 2 shifts for the 9am - 2pm event. Do you know a school that needs a community service day or wants to donate their football team or cheerleaders? Other needs: direct traffic (1/3 of a mile), accept donations, or, just be a cheery face to those waiting in their cars. Pizza/food will be provided. Please call or email Marty to volunteer, 303-798-9036 or MGenereux317@gmail.com with your name, phone, and email.
Recording links for conferences/webinars you missed are now available on the District website under the Training/Events tab.

Military Support - Mike Foss
The Snowball Express has been renamed the Gold & Purple Mountain Express to include children of Purple Heart Veterans and is in the early planning stages.
Full Battle Rattle Deli (a real NY Deli) food truck and Culinary Arts Boot Camp for Veterans was presented during their recent meeting. The organization serves homeless Veterans in gaining job skills through working on the food truck.
The Military Committee is looking for 2 volunteers to make quarterly calls to combat wounded Veterans. These calls are simply to check-in on the Veteran, show care and notify the Warrior Bonfire Program of any issues that you may discover. You will be provided a list of 15-20 Veterans to call each quarter so that you can develop trust and relationships. Training will be provided. If you are interested in this opportunity to serve those that were injured in their service to us all call or email Mike Foss; 03.956.8473, foss@warriorbonfireprogram.org

Please join theHighlands Ranch Rotary Sunrise Clubfor our regular meetings. We are currently meeting virtually and hope to return to Children’s Hospital in Highlands Ranch soon. We are still a very active club, have regular speakers, participate in “safe” service volunteer opportunities, and strive to make a difference in the community. And we have fun at the same time!
Zoom call meetings are the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 7:15 – 8:30 am. Please contact either Gary Smith (303-522-3355) or Elena Cumberbatch-Lynch (303-875-3418) for the Zoom meeting link. This is a great opportunity for a make-up meeting or for potential members that cannot easily attend noon meetings. We look forward to seeing you and welcome any guests that would like to join us!
