This Week's Speaker - Mary Taylor, Roxborough State Park

Meeting Link   https://zoom.us/j/94389170047

Inspiration: To be announced

Last Week's SpeakerSteve Miller, Club Foundation
Steve, with the help of Tom Keyton's slides, provided us with a clear and concise description of our Foundation and how the money is acquired and distributed. The HRRF is "our" Club's Foundation. The Rotary International Foundation is the backbone of Rotary receiving their monies as annual funds or endowment funds. David Wilman will speak sometime this year and provide a clearer description of where the Foundation money goes.

In honor of World Polio Day Tamie shared the story of polio and an inspiring video with Ziggy Marley, the Rotary Polio Ambassador.

Jerry Selinfreund began his update on the Military Service Committee by thanking the Foundation for their support allowing the committee to honor the Club's Veterans during the meeting on Nov 12th; support the Warrior Bonfire Program (Diamonds & Dogtags fundraiser Nov 7th); Warm Hearts - a program to provide emergency financial assistance for deployed families at Ft. Carson; the Crawford House is a residential facility for drug and alcohol abuse counseling; Snowball Express - with American Airlines children from 4 cities whose parent died in Iraq or Afganistan are treated to an event; and the Golf Tournament planned for Sep 10, 2021.

The Selinfreund's have found a Rotary Club near their 2nd home; Jan shared a flag from the Indio Rotary.

In lieu of a holiday party this year we will meet at Chatfield Botanic Garden Trail of Lights on Dec 4th at 4pm; see email from Tamie. Tickets are non-refundable and Jane MUST have a count by Nov 5th. Jane, 303-741-1115 or kyle_jane@comcast.net.

Thank you John Logan for the pictures from Thursday's Project Cure (3rd Thursday every month). First picture is Steve with Barb Youngberg, the Team Manager.
