Noon Meeting Highlights
We welcomed Bob Bevans from the Littleton Columbine Club; they changed their meeting days so he may be joining us often. Welcome Bob. It was great to see Tom Keyton and Jerry Wilford back in person.
It was an honor to welcome Tim Sparks and his wife Janet. Tim was presented with a Honorary Member Award; Honorary membership is the highest distinction that a club may bestow and is used to recognize people who have distinguished themselves by meritorious service and embody Rotary ideals. Tim, we are proud to honor you today, thank you for your Rotary service!
Scott introduced Nirali Narayan from Highlands Ranch H.S. who was accompanied by her parents and Assistant Principal. Nirali is yet another phenomenal student with multiple accolades. In my opinion, her significant achievement other than being accepted at U of C Berkley is she collaborated with the student advisory group and created an elaborate curriculum for mental health which is now offered as a course in several DCSD schools and growing even larger. Well done!
Jim introduced this week's speaker Dianna Fetter Executive Director at Project Cure, a seasoned professional with a passion for non-profit work and a member of Denver SE Rotary Club. Dianna reiterated the history of Project Cure and provided an update of their current projects. The handouts she provided on each table tell the whole story. For more information see projectcure.org.
Jim Murdock presented The Rock to Arthur Cone noting metaphors: "like a rock" indicating resilience/coming back strong and "you're my rock - unbreakable/despite setbacks still strong. I couldn't think of better descriptions for Arthur, the rock.
Nirali, our student recognition won the 50/50; we need a volunteer to sell tickets at this week's meeting.
A huge thank you to Peter Grondorf, our Club's new handyman. Thank you Peter for all the things you do that often go unnoticed.
Jeanne Taylor was this week's winner of Bob's wine auction. Thank you Jeanne.
