Meeting Notes from the (Noon Meeting) & Announcements
MEETING NOTES FROM LUNCH AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:
The noon meeting on the 5th and it has been a festive week so far. We will share more highlights after we summarize Thursday.
Our greeter was Zig Berzins and Jennie Grondorf shared family wisdom from the late, great Erma Bombeck. It is easy for us to get so wound up in holiday craziness that we forget the blessings all around us with family, friends, and our other connections.
Guests and visiting Rotarians this week included: Kevin Miser, Win from Flyin' B, Lindsay Geoffrey from MVHS, and the mom of our student of the week. Also, we were joined by Filippo Molinari.
We were joined by our student of the week, Trevia Realing. She is a student at Mountain Vista and her mom and the assistant principal joined her. She is class president this year, active in her church, and plans to study cosmetology and teaching. She was influenced by her travel to Africa when she helped with orphan children. Trevia lost her dad when she was a small child, so that experience in Africa helped her see the joy the children felt at the simplest things.
The Rock kept rolling along from Jim Bramley to the well-deserving hands of Jeannie Taylor. Jeannie is an angel in many ways, including her recent "angel funding" for Solar Panels for Ukraine. She serves in many capacities for our club and does so with quiet kindness and humility. Thank you, Jeannie.
Our program last week was an excellent presentation from Kari Brown. Kari is a naturally talented trainer and made us all laugh while teaching us ClubRunner 101. Everyone learned at least one new thing. For some, it was a first-time exploration of the platform and the ways in which we can use it. Please take some time when you can to visit our club website, login, update your profile information (including a recent photo, please). We all benefit from the connectivity ClubRunner can offer, and although it is not "perfect" it is very useful.
Further, we will see an update in January, so if you can at least login and start working a bit on things, when the next training happens, we can help all members get up to speed.
Kari is our club's webmaster and she alone has the "keys" to the magic world of ClubRunner. If you have trouble, you may reach out to her. She can reset a password and generally can help you get going.

Meeting Announcements:
The membership survey is complete. President Arthur informed us, with a note of disappointment, that only 68% of our noon club replied. Twenty three of us did not respond to the survey. It is too bad, he thought, that we did not have more participation. We will see the feedback once it is collated and reviewed by the Board.
The See's Candy Fundraiser is now complete. Thanks to those who ordered.
We will have a Solar Panel event at Mountain Vista High School in January. Details follow. President Arthur thanked Zig, Terre, Kim, and Jeannie Taylor, for their support and their effort on behalf of this project.
A special thanks in advance was offered to Kristy Hayzlett and Nancy Barton for their effort on the holiday party. (Photos to follow!)
President Arthur's final announcement was a thank you to Bill Simmermon, Debby Doig, Nancy Barton, and First Lady Terre for the lovely Christmas card effort on the club's behalf.

The 50/50 last Thursday went to Sue Bramley! She really was an all-around winner that afternoon. Congrats, Sue.
Family of Rotary:
Once again, we were saddened by the short "eulogy" offered by Win Pendleton for his dear friend, Mike Oldham. There will be more on Mike's life and a tree planted in his honor is planned at WindCrest. Futhermore, the Assistant Principal from MVHS offered that the school will donate the plaque honoring Mike as a thanks to our club for our contributions i the community.
Bob Larson is home now and we hope to see him soon. We heard that Tim Sparks is home from Skyridge. Jerry is doing better out in Palm Springs and and Ann Lester has begun a round of chemo; they are optimistic that it will help.
Please keep these people in your thoughts and check on them or their spouse/partner during these holiday weeks. Every thought matters and no good dead is too small, friends.
