The mission of Dress for Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Ann Klein spoke to our club about their vision which is a of a world where women do not live in poverty. They strive for a future where all women are financially independent and treated with dignity and respect, directly impacting their lives and those of their families. Dress for Success Denver (DFS Denver) advances economic independence by helping women become employed, stay employed, achieve promotions and raises, participate in valuable networking and leadership opportunities, launch businesses, become leaders in their organizations and communities, build power, enact social change, and embrace life-long learning and self-sufficiency. They inspire courage, confidence, and belief in women.

Since 2006, DFS Denver has served over 24,000 women, distributed over $1,000,000 in apparel, and partnered with 140+ agencies that refer low-income women to DFSD programs and services, and employ DFS Denver clients. While Dress for Success is best known for the Professional Styling program, DFS Denver advances a full lifecycle of employment programming – spanning job readiness, improving skills, employment retention and advancement, entrepreneurship, leadership, and more – through a comprehensive continuum of programs which support women at every stage of their career.

Signature programs include Professional Styling, Career Training Center, Professional Women’s Group- employment retention program (PWG) and the Butterfly Bus mobile transformation unit. These programs “bridge the gap” between economic opportunity and generational poverty.

Our past president, Bob Martin, shared with us that when his wife passed he was grateful to be able to give her wardrobe to DFS, a place where it would help women thrive.
