And we have our own pack!
A special thanks to Chip as he singularly manned all the audio-visual equipment.
Tom honored Paul Harris Fellows for their contributions; Joel Johnson +2 and Tom McHugh +5.
Kevin updated us on the success of Santa Kohl's, happy faces on the kids and the Rotary elves.
Thank you Caves for making it a family affair.
Kevin also collected blankets donated for our Afghan family. Thank you!
Jan updated us on the success of our participation, with the help of our Interact kids, at Hometown Holiday. The Keyton's hard work made the evening a success. Thank you, Tom & Jan!
Jan 26th will be an evening meeting. Shrin and Jane have planned a different evening; we will meet and have dinner at Garnish Indian Fusion restaurant. If 60 people attend, we will have the restaurant to ourselves. A sign-up sheet will begin distribution at this week's meeting. If you're not at the meeting and wish to attend, please email Jane.
Announcements
Tamie invited us to attend a "Friends & Family" Zoom presentation of the Colorado Rotary Endowed Fellowship for Pediatric Mental Health on Thursday, Dec 15th from 6:30-8pm. For those wishing to support this effort we have a committed benefactor who is matching on-line donations up to $20,000. Your contribution whether large or small, will make an important difference. To date, the committee has received $225,000 in contributions towards our fully funded amount of $500,000 with the goal of a Sep 23rd final wrap-up to allow a Rotary Fellow to be in place by January 2024. See Tamie's email from Dec 6th with the Zoom link.
Tamie also updated us on an upcoming event, also in Dec Update District 5450. Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday is Jan 16th, and the day downtown Denver hosts its annual Marade (March and Parade) celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. King. The Rotary Club of Denver Southeast is planning on participating and would like to invite any other clubs in our District to join them. The idea is to show how Rotary Club supports and promotes the ideals of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) as set forth by Dr. King. Contact Tamie if you are interested in participating.
There are IFCS kids remaining needing Christmas gifts, see Claudia's email to fulfill their dreams.
From Jane, JAMLAC's event raised $91,000, congratulations!
Thank you, Jeannie and auctioneer Bob, another bottle of wine sold supporting our Foundation.
