Claudia introduced returning Peace Corp volunteer, Charlie, as we celebrate "Partners for Peace Week", the connection between Rotary and the Peace Corp. Charlie shared his captivating story of life in Vanuatu in 2006-8.
Debby's inspiration this week was inspired by our successful Bright Futures campaign and all who will benefit. Tamie, acting President, reiterated Debby's thoughts stating a formal Bright Futures presentation is forthcoming. Tamie also shared a pair of black, strappy sandals (size 9) that were left at the event if you know the owner?

Announcements
In an effort to circumvent the rising number of childhood suicides Claudia introduced "wristbands for mental wellness", an initiative to distribute to all high schools in Douglas County with the goal of early intervention to provide support and treatment. Join Claudia and Guy as they distribute wristbands during a football game on Oct 8. (Will confirm if at Mountain Vista or Highlands Ranch.)
Jerry Wilford announced Dan Himelspach from the Mile High Club has been nominated for RI Director in 2023-25. Dan is a past 5450 District Governor.
It was a happy announcement to learn the Youth Exchange and RYLA programs are tentatively planned for 2022. More information forthcoming.
9 Health Fairs are being planned and will need volunteers; more information to come, 9Health365.org.
Phil shared a WAC video, how to make water more sustainable. WAC needs volunteers as facilitators for next Spring; please contact Phil by Nov 15th if you're interested, 303-551-5312. The focus is literacy and education and building an awareness of Rotary within WAC.

Military Service
We will again honor our Veterans on Nov 11th; look forward to an amazing tribute.

Community Service
The next IFCS pop-the-trunk is planned for Oct 13, 8am-noon. No volunteers for the Sep event caused Claudia to cancel. Let's not do that again in Oct! Please call Claudia, 262-391-4833 to volunteer.
As you clean out your closets pull out those clothes, hats, shoes, etc. you haven't worn for months/years for the St. Francis Center/Samaritan House clothing drive the end of Oct/early Nov.
