We are the world. We are the children…          

Providing a reliable source of water directly addresses one of the most common reasons children miss classes in rural Cambodia. When communities gain access to clean water, they no longer rely on distant, unprotected sources that require hours of daily manual labor.

• Improved school attendance

  is a frequent result of these installations, with some schools reporting a 10 per cent increase after water and sanitation upgrades.

• Uninterrupted learning opportunities

  are fostered by removing waterborne illness, which serves as a leading cause of absenteeism in many rural areas.

• Increased parental confidence

  in sending children to school grows when students arrive looking well-groomed and healthy due to improved hygiene resources.

• Congratulations to you and all members of the Rotary Club of Highlands Ranch. Our Selection Team chose your Cambodia WASH Project because of the range of both potable water and sanitary latrine projects that have changed the lives of over two hundred people in the Siem Reap Province of Cambodia.

• Also, I want you to know that the District WASH Committee will provide a $1000 honorarium to your club, to assist with additional WASH endeavors. The funds for that donation come from proceeds of the annual WASH Symposium.
