THIS WEEK: Aug 31st (Wednesday evening) Area 4 Assembly Picnic, no meeting on Sep 1st
LAST WEEK: Phil Clarke & the Elderly Brothers Band
If you were not at the meeting all I can say is "you missed it!". Phil and Joe Fluken were fabulous. Together they put out an awesome sound and performance. Thank you!
We welcomed Mark Eberly's wife Marie, Chuck's wife Rose, Neil's wife Michelle, and our youngest Rotarian Remi. Our special guest of Elizabeth was Joe Sutton. Thirty years ago, after retirement, his daughters leaving home, and the death of his spouse Joe received a call from the founder of Project Cure. Using his professional experience and his desire to be of service Joe worked full time calling hospitals and clinics to solicit donations. At 91 he has slowed down a bit spending a third of his time volunteering and assuming the role of volunteer ambassador at Vi. In 8 months, his efforts have paid off raising enough money to send two cargo containers of medical supplies valued at over $700,000. It was a pleasure to see service above self in action and share the evening with Joe.
Bill shared two Rotary flags, Corozal and Ambergris Caye, from his recent trip to Belize. Phil Horning was also in Belize.
Thank you, Phil Clarke, for buying this week's special auctioned red wine.
