International Service - Patricia Sznip
Costa Rica - continuing to partner with the Belen Rotary Club, providing wheelchairs, the Sue Fox library, and the IB (International Baccalaureate) program. Anticipate "boots on the ground in 2022". Exploring new opportunities such as playgrounds in elementary schools to include toilets and water facilities (76 schools with no sanitation).
World Affairs Challenge expanding to Middle Eastern and North African teams. Our donation resulted as a "community partner" giving us more visibility.
Monetary donations to Global Dental Relief which has shifted to addressing food insecurity in Nepal; partnering with Denver Mile High Club in Nepal to address food insecurity; and, partnering with Joshua Knight and their water project in Cameroon.

Per District numbers, we have had a 7% growth (6 new with 1 resignation); Elaine thanked the Club and Tamie's leadership for encouraging visitors and ultimately new members allowing the committee to meet their goal of 5 new members

Phil planning future training sessions on RI, ClubRunner app, and My Rotary
Elaine received the Rotary caps (92 blue and 15 pink) and 25 blue visors; these are gifts from our Club and will be distributed at May 6th meeting to continue creating our commercial awareness
Jim Kelley's suggestion to honor Mary Kay and her inspiration to many resulted in the Mary Kay Hasz Membership Annual Award and has 2 applicants (May 1st is the last day to apply)

Since the Club is getting ready for the annual fundraising campaign, we're going to start a series of speakers who's nonprofits receive Club funds; it's a great way to remind of us of their good works and just why they have been selected

Our Club has a new website, RotaryClubHR.org that will be managed through ClubRunner where we have control and new capabilities
HRRotary.org, the old website, is currently still active (timing unsure for how long)

tireless and outstanding work on reinventing our website, THANK YOU KARI!!
Tamie shared the Paul Harris video, doing good and making a difference in the world encouraging the Club to make contributions to The Rotary Foundation at a level most comfortable to you (14 members have never contributed to TRF), www.rotary.org/en/donate. She shared the 3 bucket slide (see her email sent following the meeting) describing how our Club works together with TRF. Please direct any questions to Jerry Wilford, our Foundation Chair.

International Service- Patricia Sznip
The International Service Committee voted to support a WASH project hosted by Denver Southeast in Nepal. The goal is to replace the damaged water systems for both fresh and sanitation purposes for Judigaun, a village about 3 hours southeast of Kathmandu. As it is a Global Grant, district funds will match our donation which will make it grow to $3000.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 11th 8am via Zoom. Please let me know if you want to be added to the list to receive the meeting invite, 347-365-0202.

Please join theHighlands Ranch Rotary Sunrise Clubfor our regular meetings. We are currently meeting virtually and hope to return to Children’s Hospital in Highlands Ranch soon. We are still a very active club, have regular speakers, participate in “safe” service volunteer opportunities, and strive to make a difference in the community. And we have fun at the same time!
