THIS WEEK: Tom Harris, Douglas County Fair

Greeter(s):  Jim Kelley
Inspiration:  Jim Murdock
50/50 winner: Marion Trummer will sell tickets for Elizabeth

LAST WEEK:  Bright Futures Launch
Thanks to Tom McHugh, Debbie Leonard, Tamie, Shrin, and Bill Leeper. This year's goal is $120,000+ with $25,000 already committed! We are off to a grand start. Tom and Debbie provided some key thoughts as we seek support: reach out to those you know; bring Rotary to life; show your enthusiasm - what excites you about Rotary; and continue to support our Foundation allowing us to continue our own good work.
Each lunch table was provided handouts with details of the enduring impact of everyone's gift, sponsorship opportunities, and the primary beneficiaries: Rotary Endowed Fellowship for Pediatric Mental Health and Rotary Teacher Training. Page 2 contains the QR code (thank you Kari) to donate. Checks are also accepted as well as donations online. All members who committed to donate (unanimous for the room) had their name put in a bowl for a $50 gift card weekly drawing. Congrats to Bill Leeper, this week's winner.

We welcomed Heath Kinsland (former Rotarian), Chip Hartney who is ready to receive his Blue Badge - welcome Chip, Gene Dionne from Littleton Rotary, and Carol Hartman from Castle Rock Rotary. Carol shared their partnership with Castle Rock Parks & Trail Foundation to raise a million dollars to develop a "Possibilities Playground", an inclusive park for disabled kids. Their more realistic goal is $15-30,000 to sponsor one element in the park. For more information, getoutdoorcastlerock.org.

The NCOA golf tournament was a huge success with all enjoying meeting new friends and playing golf.

Announcements

Elena will join District 5450's commitment to DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion). We are proud of your representation.

Fun was had by all who attended the Wedding Singer on the 18th. Unfortunately, we have no photos depicting their enjoyable evening.

The 18th was also a successful day for Help & Hope at their food drive in Highlands Ranch King Sooper. In the 2 hours I participated we filled 7 grocery carts with food for those in need in Douglas County.

Thanks to the generosity of our Foundation, the Community Service Committee, and Jerry Wilford we were able to replace a much needed fork lift for Help & Hope.

Bill Leeper reminded us the peach drive is looking for smaller non-profit partners. They will sell peaches/pears and receive a portion of the sales. Please inform Bill if you know of such a partner.

Bob auctioned a Spanish red wine purchased by Tamie and given to Phil Clarke. Bob teased us with a surprise auction item coming up next month.

See email from Connie Golas dated June 10th if you are interested in actively assisting the Corozal Belize Rotary Club fitting amputees Aug 10-24. "New legs need walking partners." Bill Simmermon is planning on traveling; will you join him?
