Inspiration Dec 10th: Arthur Cone
LAST WEEK - Elena Cumberbatch-Lynch
Elena, from the Sunrise group, will be Co-President next Rotary year with Bill Simmermon and is a financial planner with Capstone Colorado. Elena gave a moving, thought-provoking discourse on racism. In April 2020 Rotary issued a statement on diversity, equity, and exclusion; "As a global network that strives to build a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change, Rotary values diversity and celebrates the contributions of people of all backgrounds, regardless of their age, ethnicity, race, color, abilities, religion, socioeconomic status, culture, sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity." In conjunction with that, Elena believes Rotary is ripe for growth, "people don't know we are diverse". "Change is happening, we need opportunities to learn more about each other. Be honest and open to open the door."
We welcomed the following guest: Sandy Batten. And, we were happy to have Kevin Mizer joining us.
Jerry Selinfreund and the Nominating Committee announced the candidate for 2 year Board member beginning July 2021, Tom McHugh, and the President Elect Nominee in Waiting, 2023-2024, Patricia Sznip and asked for nominations from the floor for these positions. No nominations were offered.
The Nominating Committee will ask for nominations from the floor for these positions 3 weeks in a row culminating in a vote before Jan 1st.
Please let Tamie know if you are interested in joining the committee to review outcomes from the Visioning Survey.
Tamie thanked Elaine and the Membership Committee; we are in the top 10 in the District for membership gains and retention.

Please join theHighlands Ranch Rotary Sunrise Clubfor our regular meetings. We are currently meeting virtually and hope to return to Children’s Hospital in Highlands Ranch soon. We are still a very active club, have regular speakers, participate in “safe” service volunteer opportunities, and strive to make a difference in the community. And we have fun at the same time!
Zoom call meetings are the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 7:15 – 8:30 am. Please contact either Gary Smith (303-522-3355) or Elena Cumberbatch-Lynch (303-875-3418) for the Zoom meeting link. This is a great opportunity for a make-up meeting or for potential members that cannot easily attend noon meetings. We look forward to seeing you and welcome any guests that would like to join us!
