Last week's meeting was phenomenal in many ways. An awesome speaker and our phenomenal tech team had a successful hybrid meeting from the downstairs meeting room!! And, best of all, Jerry Wilford, Scott Davenport, Mindy Hendrick, and Neal Huffman were here in person! We also welcomed Chip Hartney from the Aurora Gateway Club, Steve Werner from Denver SE, Courtney Bailey (friend of Mindy's), Mike O'Brien (friend of Steve Miller), and Alex Wharry returned again after turning in his request for membership.
We had so many in attendance we ran out of table space and lunches! Kudos to Mary Ellen and Peggy for making it all work.
Debby Doig gave the "Rotary Minute" describing how early in her 25 years of Rotary she, Steve Miller, and Floyd Nelson helped start the first Interact Club. During our Apr 7th meeting we will meet the Interact kids from Mt. Vista High School.
Mike Foss, in a very short time, described the Warrior Bonfire Program, supported by our Military Service Committee. WBP provides
opportunities that improve the lives of enemy combat-wounded Veterans (Purple Heart recipients) on their lifelong journey of recovery and healing promoting camaraderie and therapeutic healing. 22 Vets take their lives every day. To learn more and see additional videos about their awesome retreats go to warriorbonfireprogram.org.
Phillip Horning was joined by his sponsor, Eric, and his mentor, Tom, as he was inducted in our Club. Jim Murdock also received his Blue Badge.
Ray Anderson thanked Bill Leeper for developing the "presentation of our theme", Empowering Youth, for the upcoming District Conference. He also thanked Tami, Kelsey, and the Keyton's for their support. In addition, he described membership into the Paul Harris Society, $85/month or $1000/year.
Steve Miller and Connie Dix (on Zoom) were both inducted into the Society.
