LAST WEEK:Business Networking Event
The most recent by-laws, January 2023, added a new article: Article XIII - Solicitation Policy
Section 1 - It is the general policy of the RCHR to discourage solicitation for financial funds, or items ‘in-kind’, such as books, etc. by any member, program speakers, or other outside individuals and organizations. Any requests for financial contributions should be referred to a Trustee of the Highlands Ranch Rotary Foundation, Inc. Section 2 – RCHR encourages its members to promote their business or profession to other members. The RCHR will facilitate this promotion at 2 ‘Club Business Days’ each year. On these Business Days, the members may set up a Tabletoppresentation.
Sue reminded us Rotary started with the vision of one man, Paul Harris, so professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Lee Mulberry and Erik Neimeier from Sunrise presented as well as Bill Leeper, Shannon O'Brien, and Carl Husmann. We will have a second networking event before July.
We welcomed Scott Smith's on his second visit, John Kennett, friend of Chip Hartney and 41-year member of the San Jose Rotary, Judy Johnson, friend of Shannon O'Brien, as well as Joel Johnson, Lee Mulberry, and Erik Niemeier from Sunrise. It was great to have Debby Doig back in person and looking fabulous after knee replacement surgery.
We honored another phenomenal and interesting Student of the Month, Jovaun Saluto, from Valor Christian H.S. and his English teacher, Ashton Spicer.
Thank you, Debby, for officiating the meeting.

Family of Rotary Concerns
After 13 days Arthur is finally home and Terre has acquired her nursing cap, our prayers go out to both of them. Our thoughts and prayers are with Goldie as she continues to improve and with Christine as she begins radiation therapy. Congratulations to Mike O'Brien and his wife on the birth of their daughter. Our prayers continue with Carl and Morgan Husmann as they await the birth of their third child and second son.
Our team in Belize will return from their support of Hope to Walk; we are anxious to learn about their adventures.
