Dr. Doug Jackson, Project Cure
PROJECT C.U.R.E. (Commission on Urgent Relief and Equipment) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, humanitarian relief organization based in Denver and is one of the largest nonprofit organizations in the world that delivers medical supplies and equipment to developing countries.
Doug shared the 3 lessons they learned from covid: clarity & courage; competition & collaboration; and, consistency & communication. "The real covid victim is trust."
There are currently 7 warehouses with the goal of 25 across the US. It costs $359,000 to start a new warehouse; goal is LA for the next one. For more information, projectcure.org.

Joe Roos sent an email inviting Club members and guests to attend the in-person segment of the HIPS "Derby for Diploma" Gala May 2nd from 2-5pm. There are 26 seats available; if you would like to attend respond to Joe's email by this Thursday, Mar 11th.
Work on the pergola at Sedalia Elementary was postponed until Mar 13-21 due to the weather.
May 8th and the recycling event seems a long way off but the planning needs to happen now. Marty Genereux needs approximately 60 volunteers for 2 shifts for the 9am - 2pm event.
In an effort to minimize traffic, the event will no longer accept scrap metal; see the updated flyer on FB or our website.

Community Service
Changing the time to volunteer at Project Cure resulted in a good turn out Monday.
Contact Elizabeth, 970-799-4321, if interested in volunteering at ReStore (Habitat for Humanity). Project Angel Heart continues to collect decorated bags for food distribution. They were so pleased with our recent fantastically decorated bags they are asking for more! Contact Elizabeth for more bags.

Military Support - Mike Foss
Mike gave thanks toBob Walsh for his continued support of Military after his move to Alabama. He and Nancy have raised funds for Warrior Bonfire and will be involved in a Warrior Bonfire Couples Retreat in April in Gulf Shores. THANK YOU BOB AND NANCY!
The Crawford House in Colorado Springs, a 90 day program providing temporary housing and future housing and employment for homeless Vets is now open. The Committee supports Crawford House through volunteer labor and funding.

You may not have served in the military, but you can serve the military.
The Military Committee is looking for 2 volunteers to make quarterly calls to combat wounded Veterans. These calls are simply to check-in on the Veteran, show care and notify the Warrior Bonfire Program of any issues that you may discover. You will be provided a list of 15-20 Veterans to call each quarter so that you can develop trust and relationships. Training will be provided. Please join theHighlands Ranch Rotary Sunrise Clubfor our regular meetings. We are currently meeting virtually and hope to return to Children’s Hospital in Highlands Ranch soon. We are still a very active club, have regular speakers, participate in “safe” service volunteer opportunities, and strive to make a difference in the community. And we have fun at the same time!
