Sources of Income
The funds granted to the various nonprofits we support are generously donated through the following sources:
- Bright Futures Benefit: This effort began in 2006 as a once-a-year effort to raise the majority of funds for the Highlands Ranch Rotary Foundation. It began as a dressy dinner gala, but since 2019 the event has been modified to a pledge drive in order to allocate a greater percentage of proceeds to those in need. This is by far our greatest source of income.
- Peach and Pear Sales: Since 2000 we have been selling Freestone Palisade peaches and Bartlett pears from a Colorado grower on the western slope. The sale takes place every summer in July/August and is offered to anyone in our community. The money raised goes to fund scholarships to the annual RYLA and Young RYLA camps for local youth.
- Recycle Event: Every May we provide the opportunity for members of our community to safely drop off their unwanted paint and electronics for recycling. The event is free, however we do accept donations which go 100% to the organizations and charities we support.
- Direct Donations: Members and non-members alike support the Highlands Ranch Rotary Foundation through direct contributions. We accept checks mailed to our PO Box, as well as online credit card payments through the "Give Now" link.

Principles of the Foundation
To distribute the funds and adequately reflect the desires of our members. We base our decisions to include, but are not limited to, the following criteria:
- Vet those organizations that request funds.
- Support those organizations we have a history with
- Support those organizations that our members support
- Support those organizations that the International, Community Service, Military and Youth committee suggest we consider.
