Servings: 12

Ingredients

  • 6 cups sliced, peeled fresh peaches or 8-9 cups frozen peaches, thawed, drained but not squeezed dry
  • ¼ c packed brown sugar
  • 3 Tb all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ¾ tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg

Topping

  • 1 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 egg, room temperature, lightly beaten
  • ½ c butter, melted and cooled
  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, optional toppings

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375º. Place peeled, sliced peaches in a greased (roughly 9x13) oven proof glass pan.
  2. Mix the next 6 ingredients together lightly. Place the mixture on top of the peaches.
  3. For the topping, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, & nutmeg. Stir in the egg, mixing with fork (or your hand) until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over the peaches. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the topping.
  4. Bake 35-40 minutes, until topping is nicely browned and crispy.  Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.  So easy and yummy, made with our Colorado peaches!
